VOICE writes, " At its Nov. 13 meeting, Southeast Capitol Hill advisory neighborhood commission:
• held an election for the empty 6B04 single-member district seat. Michael Patterson beat opponents Phyllis Johnson and Zachary Toczynski. • discussed the route of the 2008 Wirefly National Marathon. Some commissioners objected to the closing of several streets for the marathon, including East Capitol Street. • passed a resolution supporting the 11th Street Bridges renovation and reconfiguration plan as long as traffic-calming measures are implemented on 11th Street and other Hill East hot spots."

• unanimously voted to support a survey of the historic resources within the commission’s boundaries. • voted to support a historic preservation application for a Mormon Church in the old Safeway grocery store building at 522 7th St. SE. • unanimously voted to oppose a historic preservation application for a rear addition at 1223 Pennsylvania Ave. SE. • unanimously voted to approve a historic preservation application for front facade alterations at 303 Pennsylvania Ave. SE • unanimously voted to approve a Board of Zoning Adjustment application for a special exception to allow a pizza-delivery service and carryout at 914 11th St. SE. It also supported a variance application to allow off-street parking. • heard a report from the Eastern Market Task Force and unanimously voted to support all changes in the report, except for the opening of the alley between 7th and 8th streets.
