St. Peter’s Interparish School began the new school year welcoming Rev. William Byrne, who was installed at the new pastor at St. Peter’s Church on Capitol Hill in late August.
Byrne most recently served as Chaplain at the University of Maryland in College Park. After the annual blessing of the school with Rev. Bill Hegedusich, known as “Father Bill” to the students, Byrne told parents that one of the reasons he was excited about his ministry on Capitol Hill was the presence of St. Peter’s School."

BY SALLY AMAN Young learners at School-Within-School at Peabody Elementary celebrated the power and impact of compassion during the sixth annual Kindness Day.
The ritual was set in motion on September 11, when teachers quickly assembled the children to sing songs while waiting for parent pick up. "

Watkins parent designs new library By Heather Edelman and Gabriella Boston As a Watkins Elementary School parent, John Edwards could see the school library needed rejuvenation. As an architect, Edwards was able to create just what the space needed.
The School Libraries Project, an initiative of the Capitol Hill Community Foundation to revitalize eight local public school libraries, was a perfect opportunity for Edwards to help his child’s school. "
